Sophisticated yet fun, sweet yet sour this Strawberry Lemonade Martini is perfect for summer!

These are actually an Aaron Schwartz special! When we were first married he would make us (mostly me) Lemonade Martinis and they became famous–at least to me! 🙂 So when I was thinking of a cocktail for this week, I asked him to recreate the recipe but use strawberries because they are *really* close to coming into season–at least in MN! He did and they are soooo good.

We tweaked it a bit while in the development stage and it went from “tasting like vodka” to “the danger zone” where it doesn’t *really* taste like vodka. Be warned–this baby is a SIPPER not a chugger and, as always, should be enjoyed responsibly 🙂
I hope you enjoy this basically famous Strawberry Lemonade Martini as much as we do! When you give it a try, be sure to tag me in your post so I can send you a virtual cheers!
Strawberry Lemonade Martini
Ingredients
- 1 cup water
- 1 cup white sugar
- 1 cups frozen or fresh strawberries + 1 fresh for garnish
- 1 lemon
- 3 oz. Vodka–we like Tito’s
- 2 oz. Lemonade– we like Simply Lemonade
- Ice
Start by making the Strawberry Simple Syrup— bring the water, sugar and 1 cup of strawberries to a boil while frequently stirring. Let gently boil for about 5 minutes. Keep an eye on it, the last thing you want is this spilling over onto your stove, it’s a sticky mess! Remove from heat, cool for a bit. Once cooler (can still be warm), strain the strawberries and strain into a glass jar/container. Put in the fridge and let chill completely.
When you are ready to enjoy a Strawberry Lemonade Martini add a handful of ice into a cocktail shaker. Pour in the vodka, 1.5 oz of strawberry simple syrup, lemonade and a wedge of lemon. Shake the heck out of it.
Strain it into a martini glass and garnish with a lemon wheel and thin slice of strawberry.
NOTE: this recipe is for one single Strawberry Lemonade Martini, you can easily make multiple in a batch! If you are in need of another recipe to use up the Strawberry Simple Syrup, Strawberry Frozé is a great option!
Ps. if you are needing martini glasses, we have these and they are great!
