Tried and true favorites from our family’s Spring Break to Mexico!
Our family just got back from an incredible Spring Break trip to Riviera Maya, Mexico! We had the perfect (hot) weather, no issues with travel and the best time relaxing and just spending time together! We were lucky enough to have my mama, Nana, come with us which was the very cherry on top!
This was our second year going to Mexico for Spring Break and we now have a few things that we have found and loved for our trips!
- I always pack super cozy travel clothes for all of us, but especially for the girls. It’s hard to leave vacation and going from high 90s to below 30 is a true shock to the system. It helps having cozy clothes to go home into that can easily be slipped off if you get home late from the airport! This year I picked up these cute sets from Target and the girls (5 and 8) could not stop talking about how much they love them!
- Packing Cubes! Have you used these before!? I know they aren’t brand new news but I have to sing from the mountain tops how much I love them! You can cram so.many.things. into them and they make packing a breeze! They fit perfectly into the girls suitcases that have held up great! Highly, highly, recommend!
- Our girls absolutely love these Manuka Honey Suckers! I pack a bunch of them and let them go wild on the plane. It keeps them busy and they can help with sore throats/the dryness of the plane air! Pro Tip: I pack two *large* bags of snacks for the girls for on the way there and the way back. I put them in their backpacks and they have full rein of whatever they want to snack on. I try to add things in there that have some protein so it’s not just straight carb city so they can stay full a bit longer. We flew over lunch and dinner for our flights this year and they did great with their snack bags!
- I absolutely adore this rashguard swim shirt! Might it have something to do with being the “Roxy Girl” when I worked at Zumiez, maybe!?…. But it is so darn cute and worked great! Our youngest has sensitive skin that is no match to the Mexican sun/salt/pool so this was so nice to have this year! It can be tossed over any suit so once you see your little getting pink shoulders, toss this bad boy on!
- Aaron and I are both OBSESSED with LMNT, there is no way beating around that bush. We tried it a while back and have quickly become hooked. LMNT is an electrolyte drink that is not only delicious but so good for you, especially while exercising or, you know hanging poolside in Mexico indulging in drinks! 😉 If you want to give it a try, use this link and it will get you a free sample pack! My suggestion is grab the variety pack for $20, see what flavors you love and grab those next! Such a great deal! You will thank me later!
- Back by popular demand, I surprised the girls with new Barbies during our trip! They loved playing with these cute mermaid Barbies in and out of the pool. Did they fight over them, also yes.
- These googles are the best thing I have purchased for the girls in a long time! They absolutely loved them and spent hours in them! Emmie was above water as much as she was under wearing this, I swear! They seal and adjust well and are super reasonably priced!
- In the same vein, I also grabbed these diving toys that were an absolute hit with the girls as well! They loved the variety but the seaweed and fish were the big hit! They spent hours diving for them! Easy to pack in the nooks and crannies of suitcases, I would highly recommend grabbing these for your kiddos!
- Okay, this was Mama’s BFF for the trip, Green Compass’ CBD Nano Jellies! Traveling with your family internationally can be stressful, regardless of how much you prepare. These jellies kept me cool, calm and collected. I was also able to fully relax while we were on vacation and enjoy our time as a family more than I did last year. These have been an absolute game changer for me being able to take a bit of my edginess off and be the wife and mama I want to be for our family! *HIGHLY* recommend for every day and travel use! Use code: 404869 for $10 off your first order!
- I know, another swimsuit but I couldn’t help myself! The girls LOVED these rash guard suits and got so many compliments on them at the pool/beach! I loved they offered more sun protection and we didn’t have to spend time lotioning their arms/back 😉
Honorable mention if traveling abroad–this passport holder is my favorite thing! It holds all of the travel documents we had (parking, transportation, lodging and our passports!) all in one spot and made checking in, security and customs a breeze for 5 people! Several people complimented how organized I was while traveling with all of the documents this way–boom! Cruise Director FTW! ha!
So, what am I missing!? I would love to hear what your travel/Spring Break favorites are for your family!
